The Global Young Leaders Programme (YLP) is a unique executive learning programme aimed at developing leadership and business skills by applying these in an experiential context to design commercially viable solutions for socially responsible projects in Asia.

The YLP uniquely links entrepreneurial field learning in Asia with the creation of social investment opportunities in order to prepare talented young managers to lead their companies into the future.

The YLP comprises three modules:

GIFT's Global Young Leaders Programme (YLP)

• A unique leadership development programme and the first of its kind in Asia
• Incorporating cross-sectoral and action learning, sustainable benefits and the experience of working on real world issues within a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team setting
• Allowing the YLP participants, by taking part in an Asian field project, to learn through the eyes of others, expand their world view, witness how decisions made in one part of the world have impacts elsewhere, and use their skills to help with a specific development issue
• Enabling young leaders to understand future markets and customers and the complexities of doing business in Asia through our hand-picked projects which are directly linked to globalisation issues and have a real bearing on business and public-sector policies
• Since 2006, GIFT has organised nine YLP projects in China, India, Laos and Cambodia, with executives from companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Shell, IBM, Sonepar, Cathay Pacific Airways, The Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway Coporation, Gammon Construction, J.P. Morgan, UBS, CLSA, Standard Chartered and the Cheung Kong Group taking part
