During the Xian YLP, participants from the AIA management associates programme worked closely with Half The Sky Foundation to enhance the livelihoods and welling-being of orphans in China, particularly in the Xian Children Welfare Institution (CWI). The AIA management associates were tasked to design a strategic plan to improve sanitation, rehabilitation programmes, and medical care and services that are critical to the holistic development of orphaned children in the CWI. The AIA participants also had the unique opportunity to devise the framework of a national competition among welfare institutions in China to promote entrepreneurship as a new model for sustainable development for welfare institutions in the future.
